Rhyl Kitchen classroom
Rhyl Kitchen Classroom is a community food hub at Rhyl Community Primary School, providing inspirational food education for children, families and the wider community. Established as a not-for-profit social enterprise, it combines a fully equipped teaching kitchen, community space and food garden to deliver practical cooking, nutrition and food-growing activities. Since launching in 2021, the project has delivered more than 2,485 hours of free food education for young people, helping to build food skills, confidence and healthier relationships with food.
The initiative is supported by Camden’s Food Partnership as it contributes to Camden’s Food Mission by creating opportunities for residents to learn, cook and connect through food. Alongside educational programmes, Rhyl Kitchen Classroom operates community events, workshops and a production kitchen that can be hired by local organisations and businesses. Its focus on food education, community participation and access to healthy eating supports a more inclusive and sustainable local food system while strengthening community connections across Camden.
